Made by Mott’s, the name is a portmanteau of “clam” and “tomato”. Clamato Tomato Cocktail is a light and refreshing zesty drink with a blend of tomatoes, onions, celery, spices and a dash of clam. Introduced by Mott’s in 1969, the innovative Clamato opened seafood blends as a new and unexpected category of juice. Canadians had their first taste of Mott’s Clamato in 1969, the year the tomato clam cocktail was first introduced across the country by the Duffy Mott Company.
